Artist Log

Nov. 17 - I have been painting up a storm -- no cobwebs in my studio keyhole. I am working on a new "Bath" oil 30x48 with five figures, and a group of brown people bringing arm fulls of white calla lilies to a large central basket, 42x48. My people have been emerging as plump Mexican or Hawaiian. I love the brown skin and it heightens other colors in my compositions.

Arthur and I are looking forward to Kauai during February, away from the Colorado cold. Artist friend Lillian and her husband Bob will be joining us, as well as Arthur's boyhood friend Joe and his wife Theory from CA. Only our house sitter will be here from Jan. 31 to Feb. 29. I will answer your February emails and calls after we return.

Here in Boulder we have been enjoying a colorful and sunny Autumn. . . almost compares to that special Spring we had. Many leaves are still on the trees -- just don't want to give up the bounty. Happy Thanksgiving to all. We are so lucky to be able to celebrate such a holiday and to live in freedom and plenty, compared to most of the world.

If you come to Boulder feel free to visit my studio by appointment. Reach me at artbier@comcast.net or call 303-447-8871.
