A collector wanted a special commission of a girl reading a book, with her
cat and big hat under a tree. As usual, I painted two and she chose the
one she liked best. This one has light coming from the storybook. The light
reflects on the face of the girl and the cat. the painting communicates
how I feel when I am engrossed in a good book, under my favorite tree.
