Jacob's Ladder

This reminds me of when my grandmother played cat’s cradle, the string
game, with me. One of our favorites was Jacob’s Ladder. The jolly nun, almost
barefoot, is wearing Birkenstocks and knows how to play with children. The
black and white contrast, and the diagonal lines give this painting
strength.
