Three Women II 36x48
Three women with the Indian blankets from my memory of childhood in
Tahlequah, Oklahoma. These women are wise, they are supportive and give
counsel to one another. I was keeping the shapes flat and was totally
intrigued with line and shapes in relation to one another, carving out
their existence in a composition of movement. I experimented with a spotted
texture overall.
Every one of my works are journeys of technical exploration.
This one, more than most. It is one of many of a series involving flat shapes
and close interactive lines and movement. Again, the circle appears in the
composition. It is strong and fresh!
