After visiting Italy in 1994 I was influenced by Botticelli and did a
series
of three goddesses titled The Three Graces. This one is pregnant and an
apparition of a Pegasus is seen in the background. She is another of my
‘Mother Earth’ figures, barefoot and yearning. I don’t know what it means.
Maybe it is about fertility as some of my works are. I enjoyed working the
dark greens against the pearlessence of the whites, and making fluid lines
and shapes of the goddess work against the straight solid shapes of the
trees. To me, it is about spring time and flowering.
